Hey guys!
The prayer weekend went awesome!
I got this in an email that a famous Chinese Filmmaker will be at BU
Here is the email I hope you guys can check this out, it sounds really interesting
Hello Everyone,
As you may know, Zhang Yimou, the famous Chinese filmmaker and director of the Beijing 2008 Olympic Ceremonies, will receive an honorary degree from BU in May. Many departments and groups from all over BU's campus have come together to plan a week devoted to Zhang Yimou and Chinese film in order to prepare for his visit. From Monday, April 6 till Monday April 13, there will be lectures, film screenings, and other events that celebrate his work. On Monday, April 6, the Undergraduate Chinese Society, Asian Studies Initiative at BU, and the Chinese Student Association are hosting a student panel on Zhang Yimou's work at 5:30PM followed by food and a showing of the Beijing 2008 Olympic Ceremonies at 7PM in BU Central.
This special student panel is the best way for students to become actively involved in the content of these events. We are now accepting paper proposals for those who are interested in sharing their ideas and participating in the academic discussion of Zhang's work. If you would like to be part of the panel and present a paper that relates to Zhang's films, the Opening Ceremonies, or a separate topic that you feel is related to Zhang's work, please email me at msteffen@bu.edu by March 31. Submissions should include your name, year, college, major, and an abstract of your proposed paper.
