KRUP Part 1/9 - Arrival

Before you being reading any further, I would like to begin by thanking everyone who came for such a great trip, as well as the staff and the people of New Orleans. We had a great time and learned a lot about ourselves as well as the truth about Katrina. We went down expecting to help the city, but I think the city ended up changing us more. On that note, I will leave you to my log of the events of KRUP.

P.S. I have a flair for the theatrical when I write so I apologize if things sound dramatic. I like to pretend that life is a movie.

March 7, 2009 - Saturday
2300 Hours, CST

We arrived safely with no unexpected events sometime at around 2100 hours, CST. it was a long ride, around 30 hours, without running water. Needless to say, we're all pretty tired, physically and mentally. I wonder if this bus ride was a crucible for us; a small test to see if we could persevere what is to come. Or I'm just being theatrical and it was just a really long bus ride to get here.
