KRUP Part 7/9 - Construction

March 11th, 2009 - Wednesday
1610 Hours, CST

Today, we were split between three houses, each in different stages of construction. The house I worked on was mostly roofing work, which I've done a lot over the years. We were working amongst the rafters so it wasn't work for those who are afraid of heights or have poor balance since the rafters weren't among the most stable of platforms. We first had to place wooden beams to the ends of the trusses in order to create a border along the roof. Then we put plywood sheets on the roof. During lunch, a couple of the residents started playing for us. It was incredible. I can imagine how amazing the Musician's Village will be when it's completed and everyone moves in.
