As we near the end of our third day of spring break, I think everyone is getting an idea of the scope of how much help this city needs. Even after nearly 4 years of effort, much of the area remains deserted. The sadder part is that the majority of this property is not abandoned by choice; nearly 60% of the residents with to return to their homes. We, as Christian volunteers, are here as a symbol of hope: as long as there remains a need, someone will be there to fulfill that need. Jesus gave us salvation though love; we can give hope through the same way.
